Abstract : The chemical composition of phases in multicomponent engineering alloys is an important theoretical and practical problem. The literature has frequently described in detail the chemical composition of carbide phases in both ferritic chrome and austenitic chrome-nickel steels. Several works have even dealt with the composition of these phases in austenitic steels with varying ferrite content. Solving the question of chemical composition of Alpha and gamma phases in two-phase steels, however, has not yet been given sufficient attention. Since CSSR is introducing steels with two-phase austenitic-ferritic structure of the Cr21Ni5 type and their modifications, knowledge of the chemical composition of alpha and gamma phases is very important, particularly with a view to further elucidation of the problems of corrosion resistance, structural stability and similar questions.
