Abstract : Variables for measurement were selected, and methods were devised to test differences between large samples of normal and abnormal families. Additionally, a cross cultural experiment was done contrasting 40 Japanese speaking families with the American group. A comparison of families of army recruits was designed to determine whether there was a correlation between being rated high by peers and coming from more normal families. No correlation was found.
