Abstract : The hardening behavior of 13% Cr steels during aging at 500 and 600 C is investigated by hardness measurements, transmission electron microscopy and electron diffraction, X-Ray diffraction, electron microprobe analysis and determination of mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. The steels studied include a straight 13% Cr steel, a 13% Cr-6.5 Ni steel and 13% steels containing up to 5% Mo and up to 20% Co. The sequence of precipitation was determined and also the nature of the precipitates under conditions approaching equilibrium. The relation of the microstructure to the measured properties is discussed. (Author)
