Abstract : Work concerned tests of the resin systems, completion of unidirectional tension tests, and initiation of tests of the tubular specimens. Longitudinal and transverse tension tests of the unidirectional EPON 828-1031/BDMA-MNA and ERRA 0300/MPDA laminates were performed, and the results are discussed and summarized herein. A comparison of the results of theory and experiment is presented for the case of longitudinal tension. Acoustical monitoring of a number of the longitudinal and transverse specimens was conducted during the course of the tests. Shear testing of the unidirectional laminates has been initiated through torsion tests of tubular specimens in which all the filaments are oriented parallel to the axis of the tube.
