Abstract : Luminescence decay time measurements have been performed on the Lyman-Birge-Hopfield and fourth positive systems of nitrogen and on the beta and gamma systems of NO. Conclusions on the variation of the transition moment with internuclear separation can be drawn from the lifetime results.
