Abstract : The prime objective of the Castable Carbonaceous Materials Program is to characterize and demonstrate low cost, low pressure fabricated ablative insulations for use in large solid rocket motor nozzles. Efforts are directed primarily toward (1) conducting laboratory materials characterization for carbonaceous materials and (2) fabricating, testing and evaluating subscale nozzles. All nozzles fabricated for demonstration will be static tested at Edwards AFB on AFRPL char motors. Static testing of the fourth castable carbonaceous materials subscale nozzle was completed during February 1967. (Author)
