Abstract : A solution to the problem of lateral isolation of a series string monolithic solar cell is presented. The structure produced cells with output voltages of 2 volts V max and 7.3% conversion efficiency under AM=0, 140 mw/sq cm illumination. Good curve factors and outputs were demonstated indicating the feasibility of internal, monolithic isolation and interconnection. (Author)
