Abstract : The System Experience Correlation and Analysis Program, SECAP, is an exploratory development effort to enhance Air Force data storage, retrieval, and analysis capability, particularly in some of the areas of effectiveness measurement, i.e., reliability, maintainability, and personnel subsystem evaluation. Management needs in these areas were determined through meetings and discussions with Air Force and private industry management personnel and useful data products were determined. Automatic computerized generation of products was accomplished by use of the Formatted File System computer system/program and was demonstrated using F-111 Category II test data and early Minuteman operational data. Statistical techniques applicable to automatic computation were also adapted and demonstrated. These automatic techniques were computerized plotting of histograms; computerized plotting of real data distributions against four commonly used theoretical probability distribution functions, the exponential, log-normal, standardized log-normal, and Weibull; and computerized goodness-of-fit determination using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. These computerized statistical techniques were demonstrated with actual reliability and maintainability data, time-to-failure and time-to-repair data derived from F-111 Category II test data recorded on AFSC Form 258. Methods of automatically flagging critical problem areas were also explored. (Author)
