Abstract : The ability of radiating a non-directional radiation pattern with an antenna, and yet obtaining conventional angle directivity through signal processing is of interest to the Air Force. Such a technique is reported upon herein. Various noise like patterns were investigated, and the possibilities of using such a technique for radar hiding was looked into. The results are chiefly of value in that it is shown that angle resolution is a function, not of the radiation pattern, but of the autocorrelation function of the radiation pattern. (Author)
