Abstract : The porosities of 21 positive electrodes of varying composition were determined by impregnation with toluene. In addition, the surface area and pore size distribution of one electrode was determined by the nitrogen desorption method in the BET apparatus. The viscosities and equivalent conductances of phenyltrimethylammonium hexafluorophosphate, morpholinium hexafluorophosphate, and tetramethyl-ammonium hexafluorophosphate in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone were investigated. In addition, the surface tension of potassium hexafluorophosphate in propylene carbonate was determined and found to be 46.7 dynes/cm. Additional samples of NiF2 were received from another supplier. X-ray diffraction diagrams indicate that one sample is highly crystalline and the other is more amorphous. (Author)
