Abstract : A composite thermoplastic/glass filament reinforcement was developed for buoyant cables. Test models of an insulated wire cable and a coaxial cable were made for use in improved floating submarine antenna systems. These cables not only meet all electrical and mechanical requirements, but far exceed strength specifications. This development makes available, for the first time, an antenna cable that is completely watertight at a hydrostatic water pressure of 600 psig. (Author)
