Abstract : The objective of this program was the evaluation of previously developed reliability prediction techniques for use where available data are inadequate for conventional predictions. The evaluation was conducted by the application of these techniques to a current, developmental, adaptive flight-control system: that of the F-111A aircraft. The report presents quantitative and qualitative descriptions of this system for two definitions of 'reliability' -- squawk or failure and mission abort. It also presents conclusions as to the practicability and usefulness of the techniques. (Author)
