Abstract : A web was placed in the divergent section of a three-dimensional Coanda-effect nozzle, dividing it into four channels. The effects of the web area, ratio of the channel wall length to setback diameter, pressure ratio Po/Pa, and setback ratio d/b on the entrainment of a compressible fluid jet in a specific channel were experimentally determined. A limiting range of web reduction values was determined below which the main jet could not be switched from one channel to another by parallel secondary injection. An optimum d/b of 6 was determined, where switching was possible for nearly all Po/Pa tested. (Author)
