Abstract : An analysis was made of the method of optimization of a discrete compensator for inertial object systems with time lag and both the perturbation and input signal being random. Optimization was made according to the mean square error criterion by means of Wiener's method modified by Chang and further adapted to the case considered. The z transform was used. The general course of procedure is defined by formulas, which lead to the operations performed upon compound rational functions. From certain of these formulas, it is possible to obtain the general form of the transfer function of the optimal compensator and optimal system. The structure of such a compensator is shown. Compensator parameters depend on the parameters of the object and of the signals acting on the system. Their exact determination calls for digital computations. An example of the computed compensator for the specific set of parameters of the object and signals is given. The computational complexity of the method is evaluated.
