Abstract : The purpose of this paper is to present several experimental techniques of full field representation and to discuss their relative effectiveness in depicting the stress distribution on the boundary of a circular opening in the center of an elastic body. The approach is to study the stress concentration factors at critical points and to compare them with existing theory. (Author)
