Abstract : By placing moving boundary conditions on the wave equation for a vibrating membrane, we have obtained sets of velocity dependent standing waves. The vibrational modes and model patterns of the moving system were derived for a rectangular boundary frame. The system is shown to be a mechanical model of the Michelson-Morley experiment. (Author)
