Abstract : The work reported herein had as its goal determination of computer techniques to aid the electronic manufacturer in effective development and manufacture of electronic systems exploiting the most advanced electronic technologies available to the manufacturer. To accomplish this goal it was necessary to assess the characteristics of the electronic 'building blocks' available to the manufacturer, to study methods for evaluating the cost effectiveness of electronic systems implemented with this equipment, and to determine the hardware and software approach best suited for the computer tasks. The characteristics of a computer system to aid the electronic manufacturer were developed. The report discusses this system in depth. The system will aid the manufacturer to select the technological mix of technologies, devices and packaging methods which will best satisfy his needs. (Author)
