Abstract : This report discusses a system of related computer programs whose function is to compute chemical equilibria and nonequilibria. The equilibrium solution is not unique in overall concept but is unique in flexibility and the approach to the solution of the equation system. The nonequilibrium solution is a combination of the most successful methods in the literature and also incorporates new features which make it practical to use the program in a computer production capacity. These new features are associated with the determination of the point where the chemistry is collision-limited and also with the integration step size control. Both of these features have been previously discussed but have not been published in computer program context. This report attempts to build both the equilibrium and nonequilibrium equation systems from a common foundation. All equations are at least partially derived and all have a consistent unit and nomenclature construction. The derived equations are fitted together into iteration procedures which are then formed into a computer solution. (Author)
