Abstract : The purpose of the work was the study of radiation polymerization of chloroprene under conditions which present spontaneous polymerization and the study of the influence of the dose, dose rate, polymerization temperature, gaseous media, type and concentration of stabilizers on the yield, average molecular weight, and certain properties of the polymers. The radiation polymerization of chloroprene takes place at +20C by a free-radical mechanism. An ionic mechanism begins to take place as the temperature drops below 20C. (Author)
