Abstract : The objectives of the test program were to determine the capabilities and limitations of pulsed laser holography technique with regard to ultimate resolution, the ability to penetrate high droplet flux levels, the flexibility to make measurements over a wide range of axial and diametral locations in a spray field, the ability to distinguish between oxidizer and fuel simulants, and the general applicability to rocket engine combustion studies. To accomplish these objectives, a new and unique holocamera design was constructed and tested. This report describes the evolution of the pulsed laser holocamera design and presents the holography test results. In addition, laser illuminated photography studies were made. The results of this work are presented and compared to the holography tests. (Author)
