Abstract : The article discusses the circuit structure of a differential analyzer in terms of input-output variables and operators. The circuits are then translated into a program for the ZRA-1 computer. This simulation program, DIANA, is explained and analyzed. Results are shown and, although this program gives a precision of the order of 0.05% (the ZRA-1 is a Zeiss digital computer) as compared with only about 5% precision attained by analog computation on the UNIMAR, it will not replace the latter but rather complement it. That is because it is impossible to enter the original elements of the physical and technical processes directly into the DIANA program; besides, the analog simulation requires only about 1/40 of the computation time.
