Abstract : A Kodak Ektachrome RT Processor Model 1411A-M was modified to run at increased speeds with four common color films used for reconnaissance. The processor is designed to process these films at 3.2 feet per minute. The aim point of this program was nominally 10 feet per minute. Results of this program were that two of the films could be processed at 8 feet per minute, one at 10 feet per minute, and one at 11 feet per minute. During the program, attention was paid to simplicity of modification keeping in mind that the results should be applicable to continuous processing operation. To attain the results, adjustments were made in chemical composition, temperature of baths, temperature of dryer, sequence of chemical baths in their respective tanks, and certain mechanical changes necessary to effect such sequences. With proper maintenance, the processor operated very satisfactorily throughout the program in spite of the fact that it was required to function beyond the manufacturer's recommendations. (Author)
