Abstract : The optimum rendezvous, intercept, and injection laws for accelerating targets in three dimensions were found. The solution of the optimum control law for a linear inhomogeneous differential equation with a quadratic performance index was utilized in seeking the laws. There was cost upon control but no constraint upon the magnitude of control acceleration. The laws required estimation of the final miss and/or final velocity and the 'time to go.' (Author)
