Abstract : This report is a continuation of the final report for contract AF19 (628)-5193. The assumptions and assertions of that report are examined, and estimates made of how these may affect the worth and accuracy of numerical predications of contrail properties. A special type of analytic-experimental analysis is proposed to ferret out nonthermodynamic variables, and is applied to flight test data. Following the analysis, further computer simulation is explored. Additional data lead to bounds on the values of heretofore unspecifiable parameters. Further experimental study is indicated. The data is presented in terms of the dependence of contrail formation on ambient temperature and relative humidity. (Author)
