Abstract : The non-radiative ion-pair transition probability of Ho(3+):LaCl3 has been measured as a function of concentration by using lifetime techniques as well as by relative intensity measurements. Three-ion transition probabilities versus concentration have also been studied by means of relative intensity measurements. Very pronounced concentration dependent changes have been observed in the relative intensities of components of several Stark multiplets when seen under the high resolution necessary to search for satellite structure. The intensity of monochromatically excited continuum emission for NaCl has been observed to be slightly dependent on temperature and particle size. KBr, CsI, and Ho(3+):LaCl3 have also been studied and found similar in behavior. (Author)
