Abstract : Internally consistent PVT, enthalpy, internal energy, and entropy values for Ar, Ne, N2 and 4He were obtained from equations of state taken from the literature. The constants for the Ne equation were redetermined on the basis of PVT measurements for temperatures from 30K to 70K and pressures up to 200 atm. Correlations were obtained which were used in conjunction with the equation of state to obtain thermal conductivity and viscosity coefficients for the above substances. The thermal conductivities of Ne from 52K to 92K and 4He from 4.2K to 20K were measured at pressures up to 200 atm to substantiate the correlation. Results of thermal conductivity measurements of 3He from 3.2K to 20K are also presented. A method was developed to predict the solid-vapor equilibria for probable contaminants in Ar, Ne, N2 and 4He. Limited measurements on the solid-liquid equilibria of the N2/H2 and CO/H2 system were made in the range from 20.3K to 29.9K. PVT, enthalpy, internal energy, entropy, viscosity and thermal conductivity values are presented in extensive tables attached as appendices. For Ar, Ne, and N2 pressures range up to 200 atm. The maximum pressure for 4He is 100 atm. The thermophysical and transport properties for Ar, Ne, and N2 along their liquid-vapor boundary are also tabulated in the appendices. (Author)
