Abstract : Coupling of a second stimulated transition (corresponding to the pumping process) from the lower level to the pumping level decreases the effective probability of laser transition. Experiments are reported in which this decrease in effective probability due to perturbation by a second induced transition was reduced. A direct-current helium-neon laser with an internal prism and three resonator mirrors was used; with this laser it was possible to obtain two laser oscillations (independently generated by collisions of the second type) at wavelengths of 11,520 and 6328 A simultaneously. The two radiation fields corresponded to Ne-transitions 2s2 to 2p4 and 3s2 to 2p4. (Author)
