Abstract : Combined stress strength results for an unfired lava tested at room temperature are presented in this report. The test method for tension-compressing stressing is reviewed. The average strength data compared favorably with strength predictions of the modified maximum strain energy theory. The specimen end constraint problem is discussed. (Author)
