Abstract : The two-point boundary value problem from optimal control theory is solved with drag coefficient as parameter. Numerical results and prior related studies are used to conclude that, if minimum-time rendezvous exist, singular arcs may be part of the trajectories for drag coefficients up to a limiting value. Simultaneous solution of two necessary singular-arc conditions gives initial conditions on this arc. Also concluded: minimum-time trajectories are possible for all drag coefficients and rendezvous, within limiting velocity bounds. (Author)
