Abstract : Combined-environment testing (CET) is shown to reveal synergistic faults in equipment which are usually not indicated by sequential or single-environmental tests. Such faults occur frequently and can be serious. The CET method, and its extension into total-environmental testing (TET), are practicable and can be implemented to any desired degree. The higher first cost of a CET or TET facility is more than offset by the improved testing, better equipment, and savings in operating costs which result. (Author)
