Abstract : The report describes the evolution over the past ten years of ground-based instrumentation for the evaluation of inertial guidance systems. The present capability of accuracies in the measurement of component velocities of 0.04-0.06 ft/sec is discussed in terms of the total system components involved in the achievement of such accuracies. Included are discussions of the basic trackers (Mistram and MRS Vans), timing and frequency standards, software for post-flight best estimate adjustments, geodetic survey, atmospheric refraction, flame effects, and airborne antenna considerations. Additionally, current accuracies and their limitations, and potential accuracies are considered. (Author)
