Abstract : New high temperature adhesives have been developed for bonding resin-cure butyl rubber to Nomex tirecord. The most promising of these is a one-step phenol-formaldehyde resin in methyl ethyl ketone. Resin-cured butyl rubber and Nomex tire cord are considered potential candidate materials for high temperature (400 degrees F) aircraft tires. (Author-PL)
