Abstract : Data collected from the OV1-12 satellite have been reduced and analyzed to provide dose rates measured by three tissue-equivalent ionization chambers (TEIC), a bremsstrahlung X-ray detector and a solid state detector shielded by 54 grams per square centimeter of tungsten. The shielding in the other instruments corresponds to .24, 1.0 and 2.6 grams per square centimeter of lucite for the TEICs and about 5.6 grams per square centimeter of aluminum for the X-ray detector. Fluxes and spectra for geomagnetically trapped protons and electrons at 310 nautical miles altitude are derived from spectrometer data. Contour maps of the data collected over the satellite's 9-month lifetime are presented in both geodetic and B-L coordinates. A summary of the minor proton events observed by this satellite is also presented. (Author)
