Abstract : The separation of various mixtures of ferrocene derivatives into phases of distinct polarity is described. In all of the cases investigated and those which are described in the literature a definite interrelationship of the isomer-elution series is observed. For ferrocene derivates containing one nonpolar substituent (alkyl and phenyl ferrocenes) and one or two polar substituents (carbomethyoxy-, acetyl-, cyano-ferrocene) the following retention volume variation was established in phases of different polarity. In ferrocene derivates with two or three nonpolar substituents (alkyl and trialkylsilyl ferrocene) an opposite isomer-elution series is observed. The elution series can contribute very much to isomer identification. (Author)
