Abstract : This report primarily covers the tests and analyses performed on the Standard ARM (AGM-78) missile to establish a condensation test simulating the captive-carry cycle environment, i.e., sea level storage, ascent to altitude, cruise at altitude and descent to sea level. A historical account of moisture problems encountered with several other Navy air launched missiles is also presented. A test cycle and special test equipment was designed and tests conducted to substantiate an analytically derived condensation cycle. The test cycle and procedures are expected to be submitted for incorporation into MIL-STD-810 (Method 518), Environmental Test Methods. (Author)
