Abstract : An experimental investigation is being conducted to evaluate the effect of very-low concentrations of sulfur in fuel on the durability of turbine-blade materials when exposed under conditions simulating the environment in an aircraft-turbine engine operating in a marine environment. A secondary objective of the investigation is to make, where feasible, comparisons of the relative durability of the superalloys and coating-superalloy systems. (Author)
