Abstract : Research conducted during the period 1 March 1967 to 31 December 1969 is summarized. The purpose of this research is to develop techniques for the use of multiple frequency or broadband interrogating signal waveforms in the detection and identification of radar targets. A principal goal of our studies is to obtain, by a combination of existing theoretical and experimental techniques and the development of new techniques, the transient response waveforms of representative radar targets and to develop relationships between these waveforms and the physical properties of the target. Transient response waveforms of new scattering shapes and a processing scheme for detection and discrimination are described and illustrated. (Author)
