Abstract : As the millimeter-wave portion of the spectrum comes into more common usage for radar, radiometry, and communication, good nonreciprocal devices such as isolators will be required. The report explores the possibilities of a thin evaporated indium antimonide film in the Faraday configuration as a millimeter-wave isolator. Using a free-electron model, charge carrier concentrations and mobilities that are presently obtained at room temperature in good N-type InSb films are plugged into a computer program which computes Faraday rotation, including the effects of multiple reflections.
