Abstract : The report describes a radar that utilizes a sample function from a random process as its transmitted signal. The basic theory of operation of a random signal radar is summarized and then applied to the task of designing and constructing a random signal radar system. This system includes modes for PPI, B-scope, A-scope, and selected range segment displays. System photographs, display photographs, and test results are presented. A brief outline of recent research at Purdue University is also presented. (Author)
