Abstract : The thermal stability of synthetic fluids and mineral oils, and the effects of boro-silicate catalysis on their thermal stability in air was determined by differential thermal analysis. Fluids included in this investigation were perfluorinated ether, polyphenyl ether, 1, 1'diiodoferrocene, mineral oil, trimethylolpropane ester and a fluorinated silicone. Borosilicate catalysis of the fluids was found to have a definite effect on the thermal stability in air of all the fluids investigated. (Author)
