Abstract : Digital simulation is used to study the expected characteristics of a CDAA operating as a fixed-beam array. Within the usable azimuthal sector, the angle of arrival is determined from differential phase measurements. The study examines the errors expected under conditions of wave interference. Although most of the computed errors are a few degrees or less, under some conditions errors in excess of 10 degrees may be expected. The magnitude of the azimuthal angle error is a function of many parameters; an increase in the time interval over which the samples are averaged reduces the magnitude of the error. (Author)
