Abstract : This report covers the design and development of the Vector Miss Distance Indicator System. The feasibility model consisted of a very minimum of electronics to evaluate the angle measuring capability of the system using one antenna array. An experimental model was fabricated and the sensor portion, including two antennas, was installed aboard a TDU-26/B tow target. The scoring calculations were performed by a ground-based computer connected to a sensor by coaxial cables. Field tests were performed at Eglin AFB using a 105mm Howitzer.
