Abstract : In response to the many problems associated with releasing stores from multiple-carriage bomb racks, a method of using initial weapon airloads to predict the direction and approximate magnitude of first pitch and yaw amplitudes has been investigated. Flight test data, measured captive loads, wind tunnel captive loads and grid data, and free-stream aerodynamic coefficients have been obtained for a particular weapon configuration. These data were used in a digital computer program to predict existing flight test results, and thereby evaluate the prediction technique. (Author)
