Abstract : The Basic Circuit Modules program goal is to design a modular EMI receiving system, capable of covering the frequency range from 30 Hz to 40 GHz. This receiving system will be designed to meet both the present military standards as well as some anticipated future EMI requirements. This report summarizes the work accomplished during the first quarter of Phase I of the program. The objective of Phase I is to formulate a design plan for the receiving system, which will later be implemented in hardware form during Phase II. The initial study described summarizes the applicable military standards which form the minimum specifications for the receiving system. A basic block diagram for the receiver is also developed as well as preliminary packaging considerations. (Author)
