Abstract : This report describes the design and operational concepts developed by Electrosystems for a remotely piloted vehicle (RPV) to be used as a broadband, time-division, multiple-access (TDMA) radio broadcast repeater that will interconnect terrestrial or airborne terminals and to serve as a relay of special sensor information. Electrosystems assumed that the L450F aircraft would be used as the RPV. The capabilities of the L450F RPV to serve as a relay for ground trunking (NODAL) communications, position, location, reporting, and control of tactical aircraft (PLRACTA), and special sensor information in a postulated India Theater of Operation are described. A design concept for a NODAL Relay System payload is presented along with installation concepts for the payloads indicated above. In addition, the performance capabilities of L450F RPVs containing the NODAL, PLRACTA, and special sensor payloads are estimated. The L450F RPV is capable of Simultaneously containing both the NODAL Relay System payload and PLRACTA Relay System payload to simultaneously performing both missions.
