Abstract : The HELP code has been modified to better model impact situations for which the target fails in the plugging mode. The model is described in detail, and the results of five impact calculations are presented and compared with Lagrangian and analytical predictions as well as with experiment. The HELP predictions were found to be in excellent agreement with experiment. (Author)
