Abstract : This report presents a detailed description of the Dry-Docking Simulation System (DDS), a part of the NAVSHIPS Long Range Shipyard Workload Planning System (LRPS). DDS is a deterministic simulation of the allocation of dry-dock facilities in shipyards. For a specified time period, it generates a listing of the ships which could not be assigned to drydock, a schedule of the ships which were dry-docked, and a graphic dock-status chart. Complete programmers' and users' information is documented in this report. The first two sections give the background and general description of DDS. Sections 3 and 4 illustrate the input procedure with examples. Section 5 and the Appendixes are designed as detailed programmer-oriented sections. DDS is written in FORTRAN and is operational on the CDC 6700 and the IBM 360 computers. The emphasis of this report is on the CDC version. Appendixes A and B provide a glossary, and a FORTRAN listing for the CDC version. Appendix C explains the changes required for IBM 360 implementation. (Author)
