Abstract : A feasibility model of a four-channel, single-frequency repeater was designed, built and laboratory tested. This unit provides four independent relay channels operating in the 225 - 400 MHz band. The repeater provides real-time relaying of conventional AM voice traffic between users equipped with UHF transceivers such as the AN/ARC-34. By operating in a sampling, same-frequency mode, compatibility with these existing simplex single-frequency transceivers is obtained. Four independent channels suitably spaced, are capable of simultaneous operation.
