Abstract : This technical report summarizes research and development work on parametric devices. The results of experimental investigation of Raman scattering in acetonitrile and methane using a repetitively Q-switched Nd:YAG pump, 10 micrometers doubling in proustite, difference frequency mixing in lithium niobate to generate coherent infrared radiation, and four frequency oscillation in calcite are presented and discussed. The theory of backward traveling wave optical parametric interactions including momentum mismatch and diffraction is included. (Author)
