Abstract : This annual report covers the mathematical analysis and computer related activities supplied by the originator in support of the Joint Army Navy Air Crew Impact Injury Prevention Program. The 2D support includes: description and verification of the data processing programs, and an error study of the accelerometer location corrections. The 3D effort includes: a method of calculating neck stretch and twist in 3D, conversion of Euler angles to great circle arcs, and a comparison of kinematics in 2D and 3D using various numbers of accelerometers. Other work includes: preliminary efforts toward a data-base for the study of air crew injury, the reduction of vertical acceleration data, and the prediction of G-level and bandwidth in future experiments.
